General terms and conditions

General Terms and Conditions Hostel Backpackers Düsseldorf. Please note the following General Terms and Conditions, which govern the contractual relationship between you and us and which you accept with your booking:

1. Conclusion of a contract

1.1 The accommodation contract is concluded as soon as beds, rooms and other services have been confirmed. All reservations shall be confirmed in writing by Hostel Backpackers Düsseldorf. If this is no longer possible due to time constraints, the customer shall receive a (verbal) confirmation by telephone. Should the reservation confirmation differ from the content of the registration, the content of the reservation confirmation shall become part of the contract, unless the guest objects immediately upon receipt thereof, at the latest upon acceptance of the services.

1.2 The conclusion of the accommodation contract obliges the contracting parties to fulfil the contract, regardless of the duration of the contract. The concluded contract may only be terminated for good cause. 1.3 If the customer is not identical with the guest, both shall be liable for all contractual obligations as joint and several debtors.

2. Arrival and departure

2.1 Unless otherwise agreed in writing, reserved beds are available to the guest from 3 pm on the day of arrival and must be vacated by 11 am on the day of departure.

2.2 The reservation dates are binding for both contracting parties. Reserved beds are only available to the service recipient for the agreed period. Use of the reserved beds beyond the agreed period requires the consent of the hotel. In the event of a scheduled departure after 11 a.m., the reception must be notified no later than 6 p.m. the evening before.

3. Services

3.1 The guest does not acquire any claim to the provision of specific beds or rooms. Should agreed rooms not be available, the hotel shall be obliged to endeavour to find equivalent substitutes on the premises or in other properties. The contractual scope of management of the hotel results from the agreements made in writing.

3.2 If beds or other services are reserved on an option basis, the option dates are binding for both parties. After expiry of the agreed option period, the hotel may freely dispose of the option-booked beds and services without consultation.

3.3 Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the prices are per bed and overnight stay, including statutory VAT. Any increase in VAT after conclusion of the contract shall be borne by the service recipient. Agreed prices may be changed by Hostel Backpackers Düsseldorf after conclusion of the contract in accordance with the prices valid at that time without prior notice if there is a period of more than 6 months between conclusion of the contract and provision of the service. Any special conditions granted must be mentioned directly at the time of booking or arrival. Later changes or reductions are not possible.

4. Payment

4.1 The payment for the booked services is generally due before or upon the guest's arrival. Hostel Backpackers Düsseldorf is entitled to demand advance payments in the amount of the total expected accommodation price at any time after conclusion of the accommodation contract. The hotel may, without justification, make any order and reservation or other service to be performed dependent on the full or partial payment in advance of amounts expected to be owed in the form of down payments, payments on account or in the case of total advance payments. Hostel Backpackers Düsseldorf may request a valid credit card number from a credit card company accepted by Hostel Backpackers Düsseldorf in order to guarantee a reservation and the resulting services.

4.2 If the invoice amount exceeds 3 times the accommodation price, Hostel Backpackers Düsseldorf shall be entitled to issue individual interim invoices, e.g. in the form of weekly invoices, and to demand payment thereof from the guest.

4.3 Interim invoices are payable by the guest immediately upon receipt. If the guest defaults on payment, the hotel may cancel the agreement with immediate effect. Hostel Backpackers Düsseldorf reserves the right to claim further costs, in particular the loss of other rentals. Invoices to companies, travel agencies, etc. shall only be issued if the invoice recipient submits to the hotel a written declaration of acceptance of costs on their official business paper and this is accepted by the hotel. Such invoices are payable within seven days from the date of invoice, without deduction and in the currency stated on the invoice. The place of performance for payment obligations of the guest is the registered office of the hotel. This shall also apply if payment has been credited to the guest.

4.4 The acceptance and selection of credit cards is at the discretion of Hostel Backpackers Düsseldorf in each individual case, even if the basic acceptance of credit cards is indicated by notices in the hotel. Cheques, credit cards and other means of payment are only accepted on account of performance.

4.5 Prices for groups are only valid on the basis of separate written agreements. Otherwise, the respective valid group price lists of Hostel Backpackers Düsseldorf shall apply. The effectiveness of each reservation for groups is also dependent on the payment of a deposit amounting to 80% of the services to be reserved, whereby the deposit must be received by Hostel Backpackers Düsseldorf eight weeks prior to the group's arrival in order for the reservation to become finally effective. For group reservations, the hotel reserves the right to reduce the contingent of unused beds and/or to change the agreed price if less than 75% of the agreed beds are used.
